SPACE Gallery
SPACE is a multi-disciplinary art center that promotes the arts and humanities through advocacy, programming, commissioning, statewide grantmaking, resource-sharing, and community collaboration. SPACE works inside 534-538 Congress Street, outside with public art and programming initiatives, statewide through regranting programs, and (inter)nationally with professional and artistic networks. Founded in 2002, SPACE is a launchpad for ideas, an ever-evolving creative resource, and a coalition of values-based artists building a safe(r) space, performing arts venue, gallery, and maker hub in southern Maine.
Tilth Arts & Agriculture
Tilth Arts & Agriculture is a Blue Hill based non-profit corporation that manages a 10.5 acre farm as a regional hub for arts and agriculture workforce and career development. Tilth launches programs and cultural events that practice a place based land ethic and support talent and innovators across education, entrepreneurship, arts, technology and agriculture.
The Parsonage Gallery
The Parsonage explores the relationship between ecology, spirituality, and creativity through contemporary art. The gallery hosts cutting-edge exhibitions by a diverse array of artists, as well as performances, lectures, and other events. The Parsonage seeks to provide artists, students, and community members with hospitality and support, which nourishes their creativity and deepens their connection with one another and the unique coastal environment.
Camden Festival of Poetry
The Camden Festival of Poetry brings distinguished voices in poetry to Camden for an annual Festival, celebrates Maine poets and singer-songwriters, and encourages young voices in poetry throughout the year. Listening to and talking about poetry, we find connections discovering, as Jane Hirshfield said, “inseparability of our own lives and the lives of others.”
Millay House Rockland
Millay House Rockland is a nonprofit organization that champions poets, as well as creators and practitioners of all the arts. It celebrates the legacy of Edna St. Vincent Millay and the rich heritage of midcoast Maine. Millay House Rockland offers educational opportunities, writers-in-residence programs, and outreach activities that feature new artistic pieces, as well as existing works. Central to the mission is rejuvenating the literary landmark that is the birthplace of the Pulitzer Prize-winning poet. Millay was born in Rockland on February 22, 1892.
