Explore the fundamentals of drawing with oil pastels in this hands-on workshop with Emily Orangeo. Participants will learn how to create bold and colorful compositions using oil pastels and practice different ways to use the medium to achieve their artistic vision. Come prepared to get your hands a little messy while engaging with this medium that is only 101 years old!

About the artist:

Emily Orangeo is an art maker and educator based in Rockland, Maine. Throughout her career, she has taught students aged 4 to 97-years-old in schools, museums, and community spaces. Emily holds a B.A. in Art History and Sociology and an M.A. in Art Education and is currently the Senior Coordinator of Academic Programs at the Farnsworth Art Museum. Emily is a practicing artist who loves being a part of the Midcoast arts community.
