CMCA’s three-part film series at Rockland’s Strand Theatre in conjunction with Because the Sky is Blue concludes Sunday, November 8, from 12:30 - 2:30 pm, with a family-friendly screening of The Red Balloon (1956), followed by an ArtLab for All workshop at CMCA. Albert Lamorisse’s beloved 34-minute short film follows a young boy and a spirited red balloon through the streets of Paris.
Following the screening at the Strand Theatre, families are invited to CMCA’s ArtLab to create and decorate their own hanging paper balloon sculptures, bringing the film’s imaginative use of color and visual storytelling into a hands-on artmaking experience.
Admission: $9 adults and seniors | $2 children
