Join us and the artists for a free opening reception (and the last First Friday of our season!) for the 2025 CMCA Biennial on Friday, October 3, 5-7pm, with live music by Treasure Galaxies and tacos in the courtyard by Taqueria Max. Then dance the night away to the stylings of DJ LeatherMommy at Luce Spirits from 8pm-midnight.

About the 2025 CMCA Biennial

The Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA) is thrilled to announce that 29 artists have been selected to participate in its 2025 Biennial. The exhibition will be installed across all 5,500 square feet of the museum’s galleries and be on view from October 4, 2025 (and during Opening Reception October 3 at 5-7pm) to January 11, 2026. CMCA’s Biennial is the longest-running statewide juried exhibition in Maine and highlights the latest developments in contemporary art by Maine-based and connected artists. The 29 artists were selected from an applicant pool of over 450 artists by distinguished jurors Keith Fox, Tom Keyes, and William Hathaway.

CMCA’s 2025 Biennial is supported by CMCA’s Suzette McAvoy Exhibition Fund, The Roxanne Quimby Foundation, and Andrea and Tyler Curtis-Southard / Edward Jones. Live music is made possible by Camden National Bank.
